ADDING PHYSICALITY TO YOUR DAILY HANDICAPPING VIA THE RACETRACK FEED

This new series will focus on what you can do on a daily basis to select more winners while saving many bad bets via your racetrack feed.

I’ll start by offering you a real life experience.

This past week after my 15 minute paddock inspection of a field for the upcoming 50K claiming race, I strolled from the Santa Anita walking ring to the front apron so that I could watch the pre-race warm-ups.

Since there are innumerable TV monitors everywhere, it was impossible not to hear HRTV’s “talking heads” saying how “great” this certain horse looked in the paddock and in the post parade that was beginning to unfold.

I silently laughed aloud.

First off, there were very few people in the paddock because it was a weekday.  I can assure you that neither of these “talking heads” was in the paddock.  They had not moved a step from their broadcasting position since the conclusion of the prior race.

The horse they were “touting” had great speed and pace figures and was conditioned by a good trainer and had a great post position and a talented rider-------yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda ad nauseum.

But what they failed to see was a huge “no-no”.

Their touted horse sported a brand new bowed tendon on his left front and I threw him out in a heartbeat the minute he first walked into the paddock.  He’d be lucky if he made it around the track, let alone win the race.

The crowd was sending him postward at 2-1.  I had no intention of playing the race simply because I didn’t like anybody for any number of reasons.  There was another race right behind this one so there was no reason to “push” a bet.

The horse broke down on the far turn and was vanned off.  He’ll never race again.

So much for how “great” this horse looked as per the “talking heads”.

The overwhelming vast majority of these “talking heads” wouldn’t know a sound horse if one fell on them.  They merely read the past performances aloud as if their interpretations are your personal path to the Yellow Brick Road.

The only path they put you upon is that of bankroll deterioration.

And even if they knew that the horse was freshly bowed, they wouldn’t be allowed to say so on the worldwide HRTV feed.  This would cut into the “handle” for the race and hurt Santa Anita’s coffers.

About the only thing they are allowed to state is that this or that horse is getting “hot”--------- as if you couldn’t see a washy runner for yourself in the post parade!

So the first way to add “physicality” to your daily handicapping via a racetrack feed is to always remember that the “talking heads” work for the racetrack and/or for the betting organizations like TVG.

They have but one purpose and that’s to get you to wager on every race and separate you from your money as soon as possible.

So the next time you watch a racetrack feed, do so with the mute button fully engaged.  This will save you countless bad bets in the future.

In this new series, I’ll discuss many physicality topics that are clearly visible on the racetrack feeds and exactly why you should immediately throw these horses out.

I’ll cover the addition of front wraps, martingales, blowouts, stops, color, tails, ears, energy levels, muscling, run out bits, liniment and a host of other topics that include the pre-race warm-up and post race warm-down.

All this information is readily available and totally free.  You merely have to open your eyes and pay attention.

Until then, please mute the sound on your racetrack feed and never turn it on again.

It will only cost you money!
